El cantautor cubano Alain Daniel realizó un concierto junto al salsero puertorriqueño Tito Nieves el pasado 25 de noviembre en Estados Unidos. Durante el espectáculo Daniel combinó algunos temas de su primer disco, Avísale a mi gente, con éxitos más recientes.
A propósito de su relación con Nieves, declaró a la publicación que lo conoció hace alrededor de 11 años en Panamá, donde compartía con Cheo Feliciano (1935-2014). Estamos hablando de uno de los grandes salseros del mundo, de un cantante impresionante y un hombre genial, por algo lo llaman El Pavarotti de la Salsa y El Gordito de Oro de Nueva York.
Sobre este encuentro, manifestó sentirse muy contento con esta oportunidad que le da la vida. Este es un paso más en la carrera y lo asumo con igual importancia a todo lo demás que hago, dijo.
El artista cubano junto a la agrupación que dirige, Alain Daniel y su New Casino, incursiona en géneros como la música popular bailable y las baladas.
Heavyweights Brass Band signs with Cuza Agency and Slammin Media in a worldwide agency representation deal

Toronto, Canada (29 June, 2015) –Heavyweights Brass Band, Canada’s leading feel-good horn music ensemble, has decided to up its game by signing with industry leaders Cuza Agency and Slammin Media in an international agency representation deal.

The Heavyweights Brass Band is all set to perform at the prestigious 2015 Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, the world’s largest jazz festival in Quebec July 2-5, 2015. The alliance with the two industry leaders comes on the back of an overwhelming response from their audiences for more performances across the continent.
The Heavyweights Brass Band debuted to great appreciation and admiration in 2009 and saw much success at the release of their highly acclaimed album Brasstronomical in 2014, which featured original compositions that brought out their unique sound and style. The band is composed of trombonist Christopher Butcher, Tom Richards on sousaphone, Paul Metcalfe on saxophones, Lowell Whitty on drums, and Jon Challoner and John Pittman on trumpet.

The Oscar-nominated documentary on Cuban music, directed by Wim Wenders, is set to be followed by Buena Vista Social Club – Adios, directed by Lucy Walker
A sequel to Buena Vista Social Club, the Oscar-nominated documentary which examined attempts by the American guitarist Ry Cooder to bring together an ensemble of legendary Cuban musicians, is to move into production.
Titled Buena Vista Social Club – Adios, the new film will be directed by Lucy Walker, replacing the original’s Wim Wenders. It will document the personal and professional highs and lows of the five remaining original band members since their 1999 reunion tour, focusing on a new series of homecoming concerts in Havana.
